A Passion to Rescue

A passion to reach and rescue the world’s orphans has been growing in our hearts over the past few years. Judy visited orphanages in Thailand and then Mozambique. The plight of neglected, abandoned and orphaned kids really gripped her heart. Then I (Gary) was lying in bed one night watching a story on ABC about the abuse and exploitation of young girls in India and my heart just began to break and I found myself weeping. I wanted to jump out of bed and go and rescue them.
We found ourselves often talking about how we could go about rescuing and nurturing children in needy places. Soon a vision began to be born and we realized that this was what we wanted to do with our lives. We began to share with others who “caught” the vision and we realized that this could become a reality. We already had good connections in Bolivia, Uganda, India, Thailand and so we realized that it was always going to be best to partner with folk who were already in place, than to start out on our own. Destinations was born. Helping the children of nations fulfill their God-ordained destiny.
Never has there been a day like this day. There are a estimated 100 million orphans or abandoned, disadvantaged children in the world today. The task can seem overwhelming. We can’t reach them all, but we can reach some.

Child Sponsorship
You can have the exciting opportunity to sponsor a child through Destinations and Taigum Community Church. Our child sponsorships are designed to transform the lives of each child. Not only will your sponsorship help provide a child in need with food, safe water, healthcare and education, you will be helping to set a child on the path towards a greater future. Each sponsor will receive a photo of their child plus quarterly progress reports.
